At ePlan (“ePlan Bidding” or “we” or “us” or “our”), we appreciate your use of and contributions to our Web sites (defined to include all properties (mobile, web or otherwise) owned and operated by ePlan and features (known as the “services”). ePlan respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This is our privacy policy and we will comply with it, as well as applicable U.S. privacy law, when we gather and use information from users of our services.
Collection of Information
When you use ePlan, we collect a small amount of information.
Information you provide – When using our Web site, you may provide information about yourself, such as a first name, last name, phone number, and e-mail, which may occur when you register for ePlan, or submit other forms through the Web site.
Cookies and Local Storage – Cookies are bits of electronic information that can be transferred to a computer to uniquely identify that computer’s or mobile browser. When you visit our web site or mobile app and use our services, we may store local variables and cookies on your computer/device. The use of cookies helps us improve the quality of our services to you.
Usage logs – When you use the services, your computer communicates a variety of information to computer servers, including your Internet Protocol address, the existence of cookies, and information about your browser. ePlan may create a record of the information you are requesting, such as the subject or page areas you’re visiting.
Usage and Disclosure
ePlan is committed to protecting information that identifies you personally, where you have chosen to keep it private. We will only share personal information that you provide outside the public areas of our services in the following circumstances:
- When you consent ePlan to share the information.
- Service providers to ePlan. When ePlan hires a service provider to help operate the services, ePlan may grant access to personal data only as necessary to perform the service for ePlan, and subject to the terms of this privacy policy.
- Legal obligation or protection from harm. When ePlan has a good faith belief that use, access, disclosure or preservation of personal information is necessary to (a) satisfy any requirement of law, legal process, regulation, or enforceable governmental request, (b) investigate or enforce a potential violation of the Terms of Use, (c) prevent, detect, or otherwise respond to fraud, technical concerns, or security or (d) protect the property, rights, or safety of ePlan, its users, or the public against harm.
- Merger or sale. If and when ePlan is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of some or all of its business, personal information may be transferred along with the business.
When you provide public information without identifying yourself, we will protect your personal identity as described above. If your account profile does not identify you personally, ePlan won’t reveal your identity to third parties except in accordance with this policy.
When we deliver ads based on data about your use on the services, we keep your identity anonymous. We won’t identify you personally to third parties, except in accordance with this privacy policy.
Some Things are Not Covered
This privacy policy will not apply to the following:
- Public posting. You should keep in mind that the information that you choose to provide in a public area of the services (such as your profile page or ePlan Request Forms) will not be protected by this privacy policy because you have made an active choice to make that information public.
- Aggregated non-personal information and other information without personal identification. While we do not share your personal information with third parties unless permitted above, ePlan may share aggregate anonymous information with third-parties. This information does not personally identify individuals, but instead provides a helpful understanding of the groups of people who prefer certain types of services and information.

You may receive e-mail from the ePlan for a variety of reasons – for example, if you have opted into our newsletter or email alerts. If you have an account with ePlan, you can select your preferences through your settings on the website. You can also manage the receipt of some types of communication by following the instructions included in the e-mails we send you.
Third-Party Web Sites
Throughout the services, we may link to the Web sites of other companies and/or individuals. Further, certain functionalities on ePlan may involve the distribution of ePlan Request information to third-party Web Sites. These third-party Web sites may collect personal information about users on those Web sites, and ePlan’s privacy policy does not extend to these external Web sites and third parties. Please refer directly to these third parties and Web sites regarding their privacy policies.
Storage and Security of Information
Personal information will be processed and stored by ePlan in databases hosted in the United States. ePlan has taken reasonable steps to protect the information users share with us, including, but not limited to, setup of processes, equipment and software to avoid unauthorized access or disclosure of this information.
Location Data
ePlan can provide you with helpful information based on where you are. If you tell ePlan where you are (eg., by allowing your browser to send ePlan your location), ePlan may use that information to provide you with location-based information and advertising. If you wish to deactivate this feature, you can disable location services on your mobile device.
Policy requirements for Google Analytics Advertising Features
ePlan has enabled basic advertising features through Google Analytics to collect data about our traffic via Google advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers, in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. This data is simple demographic information and ePlan will not facilitate the merging of personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information collected through any Google advertising product or feature unless we have robust notice of, and the user’s prior affirmative (i.e., opt-in) consent to that merger.
We also encourage you to point users to Google Analytics’ currently available opt-outs for the web.
